# Therapy for First Responders in Dayton, OH

For responders across Montgomery, Greene and Miami counties, including the people who worked the calls everybody else only read about.

## After the Cameras Leave

This region has had a stretch of years with more than its share of large incidents: storms that took whole neighborhoods apart, an overdose crisis that redefined what a normal shift looked like, and events that drew national attention for a week and then stopped being mentioned.

What responders describe afterward is a particular kind of stranding. There was support at the time, and then the coverage ended, the outside teams went home, and everybody went back to a full call volume with the material still sitting there. Two years later it is still sitting there.

## Not Part of Anything You Belong To

I am in independent private practice. No contract with any department, union, county, base or employer program in Ohio or Kentucky. No reporting to a supervisor, no fitness-for-duty work, no letters written for anyone but you.

Sessions are by video, so there is no lot to be seen in and no schedule with your name on a door. For people who declined the option offered after a large incident precisely because it came through the agency, that separation is usually the point.

## One Call at a Time

We do not try to process a career. We take one image, work it with eye movements until the body reaction drops, and then change what you see. You do not have to narrate the scene. That matters when the incident was public and you have already told a version of it to investigators, to the department and to your family.

Sixty-minute sessions or intensives up to three hours, which usually fit a rotation better. There is no Dayton office and no in-person option. Adults only, private pay, physically in Ohio or Kentucky.

This is not a crisis service.

If you are in crisis, please call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. ART is not appropriate during active psychosis or acute crisis. Individual outcomes vary.

## Also in Dayton

Everything here is by secure video, so where you are in Dayton makes no difference to the work. These are the other things I am most often asked about locally.
