# PTSD Treatment in Lexington, KY

For adults in Lexington carrying something that has not settled, whether it happened last spring or two decades ago.

## When the Event Is Over and the Body Disagrees

Post-traumatic stress is a filing problem. The event ended, but the memory is still being handled as an ongoing emergency, so your body keeps preparing. That is why the symptoms cluster the way they do: intrusive images, dreams that repeat, a startle response set too sensitive, and a running background scan for the next one.

People in Lexington describe the pieces before they use the word. Nobody says they have hyperarousal. They say they cannot sit through a movie, they snapped at a graduate advisor over an email, they have not slept through the night since February, they feel flat in a way that concerns the people who love them.

It is also common to feel unentitled to the diagnosis. Plenty of people arrive apologizing, comparing their event to something worse. The nervous system does not run a comparison. It responded to what it met.

## The Shape of the Work

We pick one target rather than surveying everything at once. Sometimes it is the event itself. Sometimes it is the aftermath, the phone call, the hallway, the sentence a doctor said. We work on the physical response first, using eye movements while you stay with it, and then on the image, which you are able to change to something of your choosing.

Because narration is optional, this suits people who cannot afford to be undone before a clinic shift, a class, or a foaling season that does not pause. We finish sessions deliberately rather than leaving you open at the end of the hour.

I will not put a number on how long it takes and I will not tell you what will happen for you. We measure by what actually changes between appointments.

## Secure Video, No In-Person Option

My practice has no Lexington address and no waiting room anywhere. Sessions are held by secure video, and you must be physically located in Kentucky or Ohio at the time we meet.

For people in the counties around Fayette, that removes the drive that has kept specialist care theoretical. Adults only, private pay only.
