Reclaim Trauma Therapy

Meet Charle

Twenty years watching this from the other side.

I spent nearly two decades as an educator before I became a therapist. Most of what I understand about stress and behavior, I learned there first.

The Problem I Kept Running Into

For years I watched capable people struggle with high stress, self-doubt, avoidance and emotional reactions that other adults misread as defiance, disengagement or a lack of effort. I was certain there was more beneath the behavior. I did not have the clinical language to explain it.

Training as a clinician gave me that language. Behavior is very often a response to stress and to a nervous system trying to protect someone. But it also sharpened the problem rather than solving it, because I kept meeting people who could describe exactly why they reacted the way they did and still could not change what was happening on an ordinary day.

Why I Trained in ART, and Why I Built This

Losing my closest friend to cancer made the gap between understanding and change feel less academic. It reinforced something obvious that is easy to forget: time is finite, and spending years managing something you could resolve is a real cost.

That is what led me to specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and to founding Reclaim Trauma Therapy. The aim is narrow and practical: reduce the ongoing impact of what happened, strengthen your trust in yourself, and give you back a greater sense of control, so that you spend less of your life managing the past and more of it living.

Warm, Open, and Direct About What I Think

You will find me practical. I will tell you what I think is driving the symptoms, what I would suggest we target, and what I expect that to involve. If I do not think a particular approach fits, I will say so rather than trying it because it is what I am trained in.

I work with adults who are actively participating in their own treatment. That is not a requirement I apply to be difficult. It is simply where this kind of focused work does well.
