Phobia Treatment in Cleveland, OH
For the single fear that has been quietly setting the terms. Adults, by secure video.
Winter Driving Is Its Own Category Here
More people in this region describe fear of driving in snow and ice than describe anything else. Usually there was a real event behind it, a slide on a ramp or a spin on the shoreway, and afterward the dread starts arriving in October rather than at the moment of a forecast.
What it costs is specific to a place with five months of it. Calling off rather than driving in. Refusing the highway and adding half an hour of side streets. Making somebody else drive and then apologizing for it every time.
The rest of what comes up is the usual spread: needles and blood draws, flying, heights, dogs, enclosed spaces, and fear of vomiting, which quietly governs eating and travel for more adults than anyone would guess.
Working the Image, Not the Argument
You already know, rationally, that the odds are fine. That knowledge has never once stopped the reaction, because the reaction is not stored as an argument. It is stored as a picture with a body response attached.
ART goes at the picture. Eye movements bring the physical part down, then you replace what you see with something of your own choosing. There is no exposure homework and nothing to practice between sessions. Because the target is narrow this is often contained work, though I do not predict a session count for anyone.
No Office to Get To
There is no Cleveland office, which is worth stating on this page in particular: you do not have to drive through weather to an appointment about driving through weather. Adults only, private pay, and you need to be physically in Ohio or Kentucky.
This is not a crisis service.
If you are in crisis, please call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. ART is not appropriate during active psychosis or acute crisis. Individual outcomes vary.
Also in Cleveland
Everything here is by secure video, so where you are in Cleveland makes no difference to the work. These are the other things I am most often asked about locally.
Fifteen free minutes before the snow.
