The Protocol, Without the Jargon

ART is structured and directive. There is a target, a sequence, and a check before we stop. You hold a specific memory while I guide sets of smooth horizontal eye movements, and the first thing we work on is the physical part of the reaction rather than the interpretation of it.

Then we work with the image, which you replace with something you choose. The record of what happened stays exactly as it was. What tends to change is whether recalling it costs you the rest of the afternoon.

Detailed narration is not required. I need to know the target and how it is responding.

Something Recent, Something Older

Dayton adults frequently arrive with two things stacked. There is a recent event, and underneath it there is something from years ago that the recent one woke up. That is not a complication. It is normal, and it is one of the reasons a target-based method is useful, because you do not have to sort the whole pile before starting.

This is also a region where a lot of people work under clearance, on contract, or in roles with security and safety requirements attached. The common question is not whether therapy works. It is what gets written down. In private practice, the record is mine, and I do not send reports about your care to an employer, a program or anyone else.

Sessions are 60 minutes, or up to three hours as an intensive. No promised number of sessions.

There Is No Dayton Office

Not in Oakwood, not on Brown Street, not anywhere in the Miami Valley. Telehealth only, adults only, private pay. You need to be physically in Ohio or Kentucky at the time of the session, with a private space and a steady device.
