A Protocol, Not an Open-Ended Conversation
Accelerated Resolution Therapy has a shape. Each session has a beginning, a defined target, a middle where we use sets of horizontal eye movements while you hold an image or a body sensation, and an end where we check what changed. It is closer to a procedure than to a conversation that wanders where the week took it.
People who like that description usually have a reason. They have sat in supportive therapy for a long stretch, felt genuinely cared about, and left with the same image intruding on the drive home. Support is not the same mechanism as reprocessing, and wanting the second one is not impatience.
A distinctive piece of ART is that you can keep the details private. You direct the work internally while I guide the pace and the sets. You are also invited to replace the disturbing image with one you choose. The record of what happened remains untouched. The picture that ambushes you is what we are working on.
Who Books This From the Bluegrass
Lexington has an unusual mix. A large university and medical center, a farm and equine economy that runs on early mornings and physical risk, hospital and clinic staff, and a ring of smaller counties where the drive into town for a specialist appointment eats a half day.
Graduate students and clinicians in training come with a particular version of the problem: high functioning, articulate about their own symptoms, and reluctant to be a patient in the same buildings where they work. Farm and barn workers come with incidents that were physical and fast. An accident with a horse, a rollover on a tractor, a fall no one witnessed. Different lives, same structural problem, which is a memory that did not finish filing itself.
No Lexington Office
I am telehealth only. There is no location on Nicholasville Road or anywhere else, and I do not offer in-person sessions. You need to be physically inside Kentucky or Ohio during the appointment, which is a licensing requirement rather than a preference.
What you need on your end is small: a private room, a device that does not move, and an hour without interruption. Adults only, private pay.
