Dense Coverage, Overlapping Crews

This is a stack of small and mid-sized jurisdictions packed into a short drive, plus mutual aid that regularly puts you on a scene with people from another department or another state. Interstate wrecks where three highways braid together, calls at the airport, water rescues, and years of overdose runs to the same handful of addresses.

A lot of responders here also work a second job or a side business in the same community they answer calls in. That means the person on the worst call of your career might be someone you sold a truck to, coached against, or went to school with.

Distance From the Department

With departments this close, a clinician who works with one agency is often known by the next one over. Even when confidentiality is airtight, the appearance of it is not, and appearances are what people weigh when they decide whether to make the call.

I am not affiliated with any department, city, county or employer program on either side of the river. Nobody is copied on anything. There is no report, no clearance letter and no note in a file.

Logistics That Fit the Job

All appointments are by secure video. There is no office in Northern Kentucky and none anywhere else. Because I am licensed in Kentucky and Ohio, you can be at home in Boone County or parked somewhere in Ohio before a shift, as long as you are physically in one of those three states.

Standard hours or longer intensive blocks are both possible, which helps when your rotation moves. Detailed retelling is optional. Adults only, private pay.
